SMIT launches a national competition for the benefit of young students

The Moroccan Society of Tourism Engineering (SMIT) has announced the launch of a national competition allowing young students to participate in the development and growth of the Moroccan internal tourism product.

“The kick-off is given by the Department of Tourism in partnership with the department in charge of higher education and the SMIT, which are launching a nationwide competition allowing young students to participate in the development and growth of the Moroccan internal tourist product, by appealing to their creativity, their innovation and their inventiveness “, indicates the SMIT in a press release.

Inventive and innovative minds will have until June 3 to submit their applications on the site “www.smit.gov.ma“, notes the same source, adding that the award ceremony will be held on August 19, 2021.

This student competition is a call for the transformation of the domestic tourist offer so that it is compatible with the expectations of Moroccan tourists, but also with the new health constraints and this, by detecting and rewarding the most innovative ideas, specifies the SMIT.

“It is a question of provoking real emulation in the domestic tourism pool by constituting a bank of ideas made up of innovative and viable concepts, tourism products, services or solutions promoting the revitalization and transition to a more innovative domestic tourism product, competitive and sustainable “, underlines the press release.

Targeting young students from all universities and higher education establishments in Morocco, this competition is structured around two major categories, namely tourism products and / or services to boost tourist demand. Moroccan and enrolling in seaside tourism, cultural tourism or nature tourism. It is also about innovative technological solutions making it possible to increase the creativity and the competitiveness of the tourist actors marketing products for internal tourism.
