The New York Yankees don’t know how long they’ll lose slugger Giancarlo Stanton this MLB season.

Stanton, who was placed on the 10-day disabled list Sunday with mild strain on his left hamstring, will undergo an MRI in New York to determine the severity of the condition.

Cleveland Indians president Chris Antonetti said the team discussed Zach Plesac’s role ahead of his violation of health and safety protocols in Chicago on Saturday.

Plesac left the team hotel to meet some friends. When this became known, he was sent home to Cleveland in a rental car and will now be in quarantine for 72 hours.

Yordan Alvarez is 6-4 with two doubles, one homerun and four walks over the past two days at the Astros’ alternative training site in Corpus Christi, TX. There is no date for his debut for the season, but it could be this week.

The young slugger was placed on the disabled list just before opening day after missing the entire summer camp for undisclosed reasons.

The benches emptied and spirits soared at the Oakland Coliseum on Sunday after Ramón Laureano was hit by a pitch for the second time in the game. The track outfielder jumped for the Astros’ dugout after a shouting exchange with Puerto Rican hitting coach Alex Cintron.
