“We have just destroyed the myth of the people who said that the tunnel was the patent for Lévis. This is completely false, ”reacted Mayor Gilles Lehouillier, who came out of his vacation Thursday to unveil, along with Marie-Josée Morency, general manager of the Lévis Chamber of Commerce, the results of the probe.
This data is taken from a survey which, carried out in mid-July with 2,000 respondents from Quebec, Lévis, Bellechasse and Côte-de-Beaupré, aimed to measure support for the Réseau express de la Capitale (REC) and its different components.
In all these regions, 70% of respondents were in favor of the REC, which includes the Quebec-Lévis tunnel, the Quebec City tramway, the interconnection of public transport between the two shores and service to the suburbs.
