For a second year in a row, the first names Olivia and Liam were the most popular with newborn parents in 2020.

This is what Retraite Quebec clarified on Wednesday by unveiling the list of first names.

Olivia was chosen by 543 families, while Liam was chosen by 661 parents.

Among the most popular female first names, there are also Alice, Emma, ​​Charlie, Charlotte, Léa, Florence, Livia, Romy and Clara.

For little boys, many William, Noah, Thomas, Leo, Nathan, Edward, Logan, Jacob and Arthur were born.

Remember that Retraite Québec, which has been in existence since 2016, administers, among other things, the Family Allowance, which was previously called Child Assistance. Last year, nearly $ 3 billion was paid to 895,453 families across the province to support them financially. It is from the data collected through this measurement that the list of first names could be established, it was explained in a press release.
